Innovaccer chooses Aidbox to drive interoperability for its #1 data platform

May 9, 2023

Leading healthcare IT company selects Aidbox to scale FHIR transformation for its Best-in-KLAS healthcare data and analytics platform

Innovaccer has chosen the Aidbox FHIR platform, powered by Health Samurai, to drive end-to-end interoperability for its industry-leading healthcare data platform and suite of solutions. More than 1,600 hospitals and clinics in the US have deployed Innovaccer’s solutions to accelerate their success with population health management, healthcare CRM, and value-based care.

Currently, Innovaccer’s data platform is enabling care delivery transformation for more than 96,000 clinicians, bringing data-driven insights to the point of care, directly within their EHR clinical workflows. This unified data gives them a holistic view of the patient that was not possible before, enabling them to deliver patient-centered, equitable care that improves care coordination and quality.

The addition of Aidbox's FHIR-centric approach is set to enhance Innovaccer's data management capabilities by seamlessly gathering, storing, and distributing vast amounts of healthcare data in the FHIR format.

Today, literally exabytes of healthcare data is being collected and warehoused − in silos. IDC estimates 2,314 exabytes of healthcare data was stored in 2021, and it’s growing by leaps and bounds every year. But that fragmented patient data isn’t easily accessible or useful and fails to give healthcare stakeholders a single source of truth about their patient and plan member. By connecting and integrating data from disparate EHRs and HIT systems, the Innovaccer platform, with Aidbox at its core, gives healthcare organizations a 360-degree picture of their patients, preserving investments in legacy systems while making that data actionable, useful, insightful, and valuable in a way that was never possible before.

“We are honored to join forces with Innovaccer to build the FHIR-native population health platform, harnessing the potential of open standards and our technologies to convert healthcare data into improved outcomes for all,” said Nikolai Ryzhikov, CTO at Health Samurai.

Having all information at hand saves time and effort for physicians, clinical staff, and developers, enabling better care coordination, quality outcomes, and cost savings. This empowers the right applications and people with the right data at the right time and helps to provide patient care at a new level.

“We are thrilled to pair the Aidbox FHIR platform with the Innovaccer platform to drive much-needed interoperability in healthcare,” said Kanav Hasija, Chief Product Officer at Innovaccer. “With this partnership, we are empowering healthcare organizations to deliver better outcomes and experiences for patients that simply would not be possible without breaking down their data silos. By combining our expertise in healthcare technology with Aidbox's cutting-edge FHIR platform, we are taking another major step forward in making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and effective.”

This partnership represents a major step towards achieving seamless interoperability in healthcare. By leveraging Aidbox's technology and expertise, Innovaccer is committed to providing its customers with a top-notch data platform that facilitates secure and efficient data exchange across different healthcare systems. With this exciting development, the future of healthcare interoperability looks brighter than ever before.

I skipped a lot of recent conferences to prioritize attending FHIR Camp 2024 in Portugal the week before last. It was well worth the trip! It was great to hear Grahame Grieve give the background story on how FHIR came to be an open source effort. The open source angle is really important and unique in that it will require a lot of meaningful collaboration and perhaps unprecedented transparency (things we're not great at in the US) to advance these standards in the coming years. There is and will be a lot of opportunity for people to develop and offer FHIR expertise.
