Here are the new features and updates released by the Aidbox team in July 2023. See the full FHIR server release notes here.
Now you can extend the Aidbox/FHIR data model with custom resources using StructureDefinitions and FHIR Schemas. This means you can define custom resources using StructureDefinition with 'kind' set to 'logical' and 'derivation' set to 'specialization.' These are often called FHIR logical data models or simply logical models, designed to model any data using FHIR abstractions. If you're familiar with FHIR Schema, you can directly define custom resources in the Aidbox UI or API.
We’ve also published a JavaScript app example demonstrating how to handle notifications, including requesting, locking, and sending notifications.
Our UI Builder has received updates to make your experience even better. You can now use forms offline, perform definition-based data extraction, and easily search for and use templates from the Aidbox Form Gallery. We’ve also added the ability to embed the UI Builder as a web component and generate PDFs from form templates.
New widgets for speech-to-text and annotations are now available, and we’ve optimized performance for handling large forms. Additional features include support for meta and tags, multi-selection options, initial value population, and audit logging to track changes and activities.

We’ve added the ability to override existing conversion rules using DSL for more customization. The converter now supports the DICOM section and has seen significant performance improvements, ensuring faster and more reliable conversions.
